Bend, Utah, and Back Again

Kids, are you ready to drive to Bend? Elle doesn't say anything because she is deeply absorbed into the Nintendo. I wonder if she can even see through the sunglasses. If only Beck would do this now as well. Instead we bought a $5 pack of 22 hours of Popeye, Tom and Jerry, Mighty Mouse, etc. at Wal-Mart - kept the kids entertained for 22 hours!

We went out on the wave runners on Prineville reservoir in Central Oregon with Mike and Debbie. Beck had a great time, but could barely poke his head out of his life jacket. I hope that this photo doesn't come back to be used against us in a child endangerment case. "He wanted to go on the wave runners, your Honor." Assumption of the risk? Josh looks tough - like he should be wearing an Ed Hardy shirt.
It appears that Elle was super excited. She not only got to ride on the wave runner, but also drive it. There are no rules on the water...well, not according the the marina police. But, we're not on speaking terms with them right now.
Alicia soaking up the summer sun with her "soul mate." Actually, a lot of sun was reflected off the two of us.
Here's a glamor shot of Elle. We're headed down to Utah to visit Josh's family and for his cousin Kami's wedding. Elle thought she could make it the whole way without falling asleep. Idaho had something in-store for her. IT'S SO BORING driving through Idaho. Josh almost fell asleep and it was the middle of the day. Sorry, Sublet, Jerome, Idahome, and Burley.
Beck and Elle wanted to go bird watching next to Utah Lake. We walked a lot, but Beck didn't want to stop when we put down a blanket. He almost fell off of a couple of drop offs, but luckily Josh heroically yelled at Beck and Beck came running back. We didn't get many pictures of Utah.

On the way back to Washington we stopped back in Bend for a business meeting and another opportunity to visit Mike and Debbie. So, we went up to "Mountain Hood" as Elle likes to call it and did the Alpine Slides and games. This picture is deceiving...it looks like Josh is holding up the line, but really there is a 6 year old girl in front of him doing her age in MPH.
Elle got to ride on the kiddy go karts by herself. She was SOOO excited that she got to drive her own car.
Then off to the bungee trampoline. We had to wait for about an hour for all of the other little kids and their moms to "jump."
Elle did a sweet backflip. She moves so fast that the camera cannot even keep up with her.
Josh had his revenge on all of the soccer moms and he took his time doing some awesome ninja backflips - if ninjas needed bungee cords.
Off to the tubes. This one wasn't so much fun for Elle, because she got wet and she wasn't heavy enough to make it all of the way down the slide.

Pretty soon it started to pour like it always does in the Pacific Northwest. But the reverse bungee must go on. I wished the Alpine Slides were still going during the rain that way we could have gotten to go faster than 6 MPH. In the words of Leo from Little Einsteins we would have gone "super fast!"
Although it was raining outside Beck went in to play in the ball pit. He had fun licking everything in sight. Don't knock it until you try it!
Mr. Blue Eyes in the play place.
Mr. Blue EyesSince it was raining down at Ski Bowl we headed up to Timberline above the clouds and into the lodge on "The Shining." I wonder if this is the same shuffle board that Danny used?
Redrum, Dad. Redrum!
A pretty view of Mt. Hood from Timberline lodge. You can almost make out the shapes of people as they were skiing down the glacier from summit express.
